Board member for Wales.

Denize Morris has been the Subject Officer for Religious Education in ACCAC (The Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales), now DCELLS (The Department for Children, Education and Lifelong Learning and Skills - part of the Welsh Assembly Government) since September 1994. Prior to this she taught in Basingstoke, Hackney, Merton and South Wales and she was director of the Lampeter Computers and RE project which developed innovative software for RE in the early 90’s. She has a B.Ed. from Wales, an MA from Kings College, University of London, M.Phil. from the University of Wales, Lampeter and a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs and Dyslexia from the University of Wales, Swansea.

In 2007 she went to Israel to study at Yad Vashem and travelled to Lithuania and Poland with the Imperial War Museum Holocaust Fellowship. Her special project is on Good, Evil, Suffering and Hope.

In April 2007 she also travelled to Kerala in Southern India with Teachers in Development Education (TIDE) to explore the Kerala paradox. Kerala has a literacy level and life expectancy level almost on a par with Britain, but is one of the poorest parts of India and therefore of the world. She is hoping that through her visit she will be able to show how Religious Education can better contribute to Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC)
