Woont in Zuidhorn, Nederland. Op dit moment is hij verbonden aan de Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (NHL) afdeling theologie als docent nieuwe testament en geschiedenis van het christendom. Als senior docent leidt hij docenten godsdienst en levensbeschouwing en kerkelijk/pastoraal werkers op op het niveau van bachelor en master. Wat zijn arbeidsverleden betreft: hij heeft ervaring als docent in het basisonderwijs, het middelbaar beroepsonderwijs, havo vwo, pabo en lerarenopleiding. Gedurende vijf jaar is hij binnen een van de rechtsvoorgangers van de PKN gemeentepredikant geweest. Verder heeft hij binnen de hogeschool een staffunctie voor het College van Bestuur vervuld en is hij geruime tijd als manager afdelingshoofd pedagogiek en theologie geweest. In het vrijwilligerswerk is hij bestuurder (geweest) in kerk en onderwijs. Op dit moment is hij bestuurder bij een Cultureel Centrum, verenigingsraadslid van de NCRV, vice voorzitter van de Raad van Toerzicht van het Alfa College te Groningen en bestuursvoorzitter van de Stichting voor Chr. Speciaal Onderwijs te Groningen. Hij publiceert op onderwerpen uit de geschiedenis van het christendom, het nieuwe testament, identiteit van het onderwijs en onderwijs in de wereldreligies.

Lives in Zuidhorn in the Northern part of the Netherlands. He works at the NHL University in Leeuwarden as a lecturer of New Testament and Church History. He trains teachers of religion and clergymen on the bachelor and master level. In the past he has been a teacher in a primary school, a secondary school, a school of professional education, a teacher trainings college and a lecturer of theology at university. He has been a (Protestant) parish clergymen, a staff member for the board of the CHN University and a dean of the faculty of Pedagogics and Theology at NHL University. In free time he has been on the board of church and educational committees. At the moment he is on the board of a Cultural Center, represents members of a Dutch Radio and Television Station (NCRV), is the vice chairman of the comissioners of an Institute for professional Education and chairman of the Board of several schools for retarded children. He publishes in the field of New Testament, (Dutch) Church History, religious identity of schools and on the teaching of world religions.
