7. EFTRE’s contribution to CoGREE, and how we can further develop the relationship

Through CoGREE we have an access into the council of Europe and to the other European Institutions. The meeting feels that Peter Schreiner will be a good representative within the wider European conference. We understand CoGREE to be more of a platform than an umbrella for EFTRE, and that it is important that the European institutions see this as a two-way organisation and that CoGREE passes on the links to the correct part of the membership. We agreed on taking part in making CoREE’s statutes, and then when we know the statutes agree to whether or not take part in making CoGREE an NGO.

8. Internet

Paul reported on the new design of the website which was agreed was an improvement. Then on the needs for the updates for the following:

  • Butterflies and Overviews: These were the “good ideas” of the teaching of religion in different countries; if each board member can find one example to place on the website then this would be a good collection of examples of teaching across Europe.
  • Reports: The country reports for 2006/7 were out of date and Paul would circulate an e-mail reminder for each of the people to give them the latest report time.
  • Members: Each board member was responsible for their country to check the membership of EFTRE and to see if the organisation wished to still be a member and if they have paid their subscriptions.
  • Corrections: Each board member to check the details on their pages for errors etc… (also to include a Skype Name if possible)
  • Follow-up from conference (video etc…)
  • Translations (public pages): It would be good to have, at least, the “about EFTRE” if all the languages of the members.
