Question Answer
What will happen to any apps that I buy and install on the device?

As long as you are signed in to your own iTunes account all the apps you buy are your own and you will have access to these from any iDevices that you own or access.

What will happen if I lose the cable and/or plug? You will be charged for a replacement - if you buy a replacement that is deemed to be unacceptable (e.g. a cheap replacement) you will be billed for a proper replacement.
What will happen if the device gets broken? There have only been 3 breakages so far so it is unlikely and you should be careful! If your deveice gets broken contact us at once with details. If you can you should add the device to your house / personal insurance. If the device is broken becuase of carelessness then you will be expected to replace it.
What will happen if I do not return the device In the first instance you will be contacted and reminded! Then you will be sent an invoice for the cost of the device plus an admin charge. If the device is still not returned then you will be reported to the police for theft.
What can I install on the device? You can install any apps or data to do with the course or with the placement. You should not install any apps that would not be suitable for school (e.g. adult or gambling).
Can I change the wallpapers / background Yes, but with the same caveat as above - suitable for school (see Standard B) - and as long as they comply with the AUP - good / not good
Can I use my iPad in my placement school? I hope that you will want to do this and that the school will support this. You need to talk to your school early on about getting access to the school wifi (if this is possible).
Can I let children in my placement school access my iPad? Yes as long as you have the clear agreement of the school. If you want to do this, talk to your mentor and to your class teacher.
Can I loan my iPad to someone else No - the iPad is for your personal use and is your responsibility so we would not reccomend this.
