The iPad and the Learning and Teaching sessions

The iPad will impact on the ways in which we learn in several ways:

In the Inquiry Based Learning Module - the iPad will be an invaluable tool for:

Content curation: You will be expected to collect materials in order to support your researches into the core inquiry questions used during the module. You might use the web browser tools or an application such as Pinterest for this, you will also be able to share the information with the rest of your group and wider using tools such as Tweetdeck or Scoop.it

Research: A core part of the IBL module is collaborative and individual research during the sessions, the device will allow this to take place and then for the content to be curated (see above)

Communication / Collaboration: The IBL questions are not meant just to be answered individually but collaboratively. You will be able to use the affordances of the device to share materials, using an application such as dropbox and to collaborate and plan using an application such as Pinterest.

Creation: You will be expected to present your ideas to the rest of your group. Using AirPlay or Airshare will allow you to do this in real time whilst SlideRocket or iMovie or Keynote will allow to prepare materials for wider audiences.

In the Problem Based Learning Module the iPad will be an invaluable tool for:

Collaboration: At the heart of the PBL activity is being able to combine the individual work with the collaborative team work. Using collaboration applications such as Popplet, or Endnote you will be able to do some of this.

Research: Central to the PBL, as to all academic learning, module is collaborative and individual research during the sessions, the device will allow this to take place and then for the content to be curated (see above)
