Since reporting our launch project in last year’s SACRE NEWS (#16) we have rebranded as Interfusion. The last twelve months has been extremely busy with an Executive Committee of young people who are very much in charge! Monthly meetings have included two held at the Portsmouth and Southsea Synagogue (lovely cakes!) and one at St Faith’s Church, where a member organised the visit and led a tour.

Some key activities ranged from running workshops at the Portsmouth GCSE RE Students Conference (10 minutes notice!) to interviews with Wave 105 (a local radio station) which were used in news bulletins and a feature, via stands at the Portsmouth & Southsea Show and the Portsmouth Multicultural Festival, social events (with food of course!), supporting Thursday’s Child at the Anglican General Synod, writing and reading a reflection at the Act of Remembrance, and lots of spontaneous interfaith discussion. We are pleased that two representatives are co-opted onto SACRE. Our latest exploit was designing and making our own banner with a local artist - lots of blue paint in evidence! We have secured the majority of our funding for the year from April 2007 and are excited to be developing and expanding. Watch out for our website – coming very soon! Thanks to NASACRE and the Westhill Trust for starting us off in June 2005.
