We have been thinking about the underlying nature of the PGCE course and the balance of:
- subject knowledge in the core subjects (English, Mathematics and Science) and the foundation subjects (Art and Design, Computing, Design Technology, History, Geography, Music, Physical Education, MFL [KS2]) and Religious Education.
- pedagogic knowlege - how these subjects are taught
- theoretical knowlege - the underpinning conceptual and philosophical aspects of education
