Book Creator on your iPad or Android are very similar, if you are using the Web based version see this page. I am using screenshots from the iPad version but this should also give you a guide to the Android version. The key thing, as with much software, is to 'play' and explore the options.
When you open the Book Creator app you will see the books already created. Tapping the + symbol will open up the above dialogue and you should select 'New Book'
You will now get the choice to create a book in a number of formats either as plain pages or as an animated style - choose which ever you think is most appropriate for your book.
2. Adding Content
e you have opened your book you can start to add content. In the top corner you will see the three icons including the + icon again. Tapping on the + icon will give you options to add:
Photos: This allows you to add an existing photo or video from those stored on the device
Camera: This gives you access to capture live still or video footage
Pen: This allows you to draw using your finger (or an Apple pencil if you have a more recent iPad)
Text: This allows you to add text or hyperlinks
Sound: This allows you to add a recorded sound (e.g. voice over)
Note there is also another tab called "shapes" this allows you to add a range of shapes.
3. Editing Content
Once you have added your content you will probably want to change what you have, especially as you look at your design and layout. The screenshot above shows the menu you get when you look to edit text - you will get similar menus if you want to edit other elements. You can see from this menu you can edit the size, colour, font and position of the text.
Once you have finished editing and the book is "finished" tap on the "My Books" in the top left of the page and this will take you back to the homepage.
4. Exporting / Saving your Book
Tapping now on the box with the upward pointing arrow gives you the options to save in a number of formats. You should export as an ePub and then send this to Julia via CANVAS or via email (julia.lawrence@hull.ac.uk)
