Communication, Language and Literacy: Narrative is a very important part of RE as is awe and wonder and stimulus so ICT can be used for:

  • Responding: Images, Sounds and Video clips are great starting places for responding to religious experiences in their own lives - see the AV pages for some resources
  • Capture Stories : Record the children's own stories or responses to religious stories
  • Making Story: Children use Clicker, or Photostory or Powerpoint to make their own digital narratives.

Creative Development : Expressing meaning and responding to religious stimuli

  • Guided Imagination: Using image, sound to get the pupils to respond to and image
  • Making Story: Children use Clicker, or Photostory or Powerpoint to make their own digital narratives.
  • Making Movies: Using digital video (e.g. digital blue) allows children to make movies about spiritual ideas e.g. 'a spiritual walk' or 'places that are special'
  • Making songs : Children can use the audio equipment to make music or songs responding to religious stimuli

Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Exploring the cultural and social ideas that effect young children:

  • Story: Access to a range of stories can be used to introduce teachers to a wider cultural environment start with the Staffordshire Net Stories but there are many more.
  • Capture Stories : Record the children's own stories or responses to religious stories
  • Responding: Images, Sounds and Video clips are great starting places for responding to religious experiences in their own lives - see the AV pages for some resources

Knowledge and Understanding of the World: Children should have access to a wider exploration of the world.

  • Variety: Images, Sounds and Video can be used to given the children experience of a variety of practice, especially in mono-cultural areas. Children can share their experience using digital images start with the AV pages
  • Virtual Visits : The opportunity to explore places and "meet" with people that would otherwise be very difficult. See the lesson pages for some places to start.
  • Exploring: Children can use images to explore ideas and respond to those ideas. Using voice narration on powerpoint gives the opportunity for pupils to annotate the pictures with their own ideas.
